Myotonometry in machinery operators and its relationship with postural ergonomic risk.

To analyze the association between occupational ergonomic risk, personal characteristics, and working conditions with the biomechanical properties of stiffness and muscular tone in the paravertebral muscles of electric pallet jack and forklift operators in the industrial sector. A total of 75 industrial sector machine operators were evaluated in 2021. Personal characteristics and working conditions were assessed through a questionnaire. Ergonomic risk was assessed using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method, and biomechanical properties of stiffness and muscular tone were obtained using the Myoton Pro device. Stiffness in paravertebral muscles was compared based on the operated machine and observed ergonomic risk. A multilevel linear regression model was employed to quantify the relationship, with mean differences and 95% CI calculated. Very high ergonomic risk was found in 75% of the electric pallet truck drivers. In this group with the highest ergonomic risk, an association between biomechanical properties and older workers was observed. Additionally, among electric pallet truck drivers, stiffness (mean difference 335.9N/m, 95% CI: 46.4 (3.4 to 110.0), P < 0.05) and paravertebral muscle tone (mean difference 17.5 Hz, 95% CI: 1.4 (0.1 to 3.4), P < 0.05) showed statistically significant differences in the very high ergonomic risk category compared to the high-risk category. No significant differences were observed in any of the analyzed variables among forklift drivers. Workers operating electric pallet trucks with very high ergonomic risk according to the REBA method and aged over 40 yr are associated with increased muscle stiffness and tone.

Work posture risk comparison of RULA and REBA based on measures of assessment-score variability: A case study of the metal coating industry in Thailand

This study examines the work posture risk comparison of RULA and REBA based on measures of assessment-score variability. During the metal coating process, chemicals were frequently employed, necessitating a heightened level of caution among the employees. The Cornell Musculoskeletal Discomfort Questionnaires (CMDQ) revealed the manifestation of physical discomfort among employees. In this study, the rapid upper limb assessment (RULA) and the rapid entire body assessment (REBA) were used to identify ergonomic concerns related to the work of employees in the black oxide coating department of a metal coating firm. The sensitivity of risk assessment between the two methods was investigated, considering the mean and variability of the assessment scores. Consideration was given to the diverse and crucial work positions of employees at each station, focusing exclusively on the standing working posture. In the black oxide coating section, there were 12 steps that 20 workers had to complete. Under the same working postures, the overall average RULA score was determined to be at a high-risk level, whereas the overall average REBA score was at a moderate-risk level. As a result, the RULA method had a greater capacity for risk warning than the REBA method. Levene's test was also applied to determine whether the variances of the risk scores computed using the two techniques were equal. The results of the analysis showed that the variances in the scores using the two methods were not significantly different.

Manual material handling risk assessment in furniture industry: REBA method

The Turkish furniture industry is a significant player in the global market and ranks eleventh in the worldwide in terms of exports. Despite its positive economic impact, the industry faces challenges such as a high number of occupational injuries and illnesses, especially musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The objective of this study is to conduct an ergonomic risk assessment using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method in a furniture Turkish manufacturing facility. A total of twenty-four tasks were assessed using the REBA method, revealing that 41.7% of the tasks were found to pose either a high or very high ergonomic risk. Tasks such as carrying sofa frames and cutting fabrics were found to be particularly risky due to prolonged and strenuous postures involved. Engineering and managerial control measures were recommended to mitigate these risks, including automation, workstation redesign, and employee training. While the REBA method provided valuable insights, its subjective nature highlights the need for more objective assessment methods, such as electromyography (EMG). Future research should investigate these alternative methods to improve the reliability of ergonomic assessments. In conclusion, this study highlights the significant ergonomic risks in the Turkish furniture industry and emphasizes the importance of implementing targeted interventions to safeguard employee health and improve overall productivity. By addressing these risks, companies can create safer working environments and enhance their competitiveness in the global market.

Prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders and ergonomic risk assessment among production workers of pig slaughterhouse in the town municipality of Ang Thong, Thailand

Introduction: Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) are a significant health concern among workers, especially in the meat processing industry. Their impacts have been well documented and reported on numerous occasions. The study aimed to determine the prevalence of WMSDs and the ergonomic assessment of exposure to their risk factors. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in a pig slaughterhouse in the town municipality of Ang Thong, Thailand. Data were collected from April to July 2021 from 108 participants who answered a questionnaire. The descriptive questionnaire for WMSDs was adapted from the Standardized Nordic Questionnaire in Thai and the Bureau of Occupational and Environmental Diseases, Department of Disease Control of Thailand. Ten individuals received an ergonomic assessment of their exposure to risk factors using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method. Results: According to the study, 94.4% of participants working in pig slaughterhouse production reported experiencing the prevalence of WMSDs in the last seven days. Additionally, 93.5% of workers reported experiencing the prevalence of these disorders within the past 12 months. It has been observed that 29.6% of participants experience higher pain levels in their hands, while 25.9% experience it in their wrists, respectively. Based on the results of an ergonomic risk assessment using the REBA method, the half-cutting operator position presents a moderate level of risk. Conclusion: The study revealed that most of the workers at the pig slaughterhouse had to use their hands and arms to apply repeated pressure consistently. The occurrence rates of WMSDs within the last seven days and 12 months were highest in the hands or wrists, followed by the upper arms and shoulders. Therefore, it is crucial to implement ergonomic measures to minimize the risk factors for WMSDs among production workers in pig slaughterhouses.

Analysis and Identification of Work Posture to Complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) with REBA Method (Case Study at CV. Sumber Sari, Jember Regency)

This study discusses the analysis of work posture on all activities of workers who produce coco fiber in CV. Sumber Sari is located in Lembengan Village, Jember Regency. The production processes that are currently operating are the jockey, drying, sieving, and pressing processes. Work activities are carried out repeatedly, causing complaints to workers. These complaints arise due to non-ergonomic posture causing pain in several parts of the body felt by workers. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of risk and the percentage of complaints experienced during the production process. The methods used are the Standard Nordic Questionnaire (SNQ) and the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA). The results of the research from the SNQ questionnaire on the manufacture of coco fiber, the body segments of workers mostly experience complaints on the back, waist and thighs. Research using the REBA method has a very high level of risk in jockey, sieving, and pressing workers (A4 and A5).Keywords— musculoskeletal disorders, working posture, SNQ, REBA

Arduino-Based Development of Automatic Body Posture Measuring Device for Rapid Entire Body Assessment Method

Workers from various industries can be exposed to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) risks in the workplace. Most cases of MSDs happen because of the accumulation of repetitive bad postures. Postural analysis can be done to implement changes that minimize MSDs risks in the workplace. The rapid entire body assessment (REBA) method provides an easy and fast measurement to analyze various postures. The accuracy of REBA assessments from observations is not good enough due to the limitations of human vision. The input of photo-based postural analysis also has a lot of error potential and takes up even more time. Therefore, this study aims to design a tool to do body posture measurements accurately and quickly. The Arduino-based postural analysis tool measures the position of several body segments, which are then used as the input of REBA in real time. The acceleration of each body segment recorded by the MPU6050 will be processed as displacement data and used to analyze the posture. The posture measurements detected by the tool is then used as input for REBA assessment. The device's accuracy was tested by comparing the photo-based postural analysis result to the postural analysis result of the tool. The reliability of the device was tested by Cronbach's Alpha method. The Cronbach's Alpha value of normal standing posture is 0.692, and the extreme posture's Cronbach's alpha value is 0.537. Multiple postures can be recorded at once using the tool. The tool can capture and assess multiple postures in approximately 6 minutes.

Musculoskeletal Disorders Risk Levels in Tofu Workers in North Aceh: An Ergonomic Assessment

Tofu is a soy-based food that is popular in Indonesia. One of the supporting factors is that it has high nutritional value and low price. Tofu is produced by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in all provinces in Indonesia, including in the region of Aceh. Based on the results of observations, the tofu production process still predominantly uses human labor, starting from the washing process to the cutting process. This activity is carried out every day with a high repetition rate. If this is allowed to happen for a long time, workers will be exposed to the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. This study uses the Cornell Musculoskeletal Disorders (CMDQ) questionnaire to assess the workers' work posture and determine the level of occupational hazard risk using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method. The results of the distribution of questionnaires show that the body parts that experienced pain complaints were the shoulder (right dan left), upper back, upper arm (right and left), lower back, forearm (right and left), also wrist (right and left). It happens in the filtering process. The results of the assessment of work posture with the REBA method show the score of work posture in the filtering process is 13, which means that the filtering posture of workers has a very high risk and must be improved immediately.  The present research recommended additional intervention that includes engineering and administrative control methods for reducing those workers' complaints of muscle pain.

Visualization of Caregiving Posture and Risk Evaluation of Discomfort and Injury

There is a high risk of musculoskeletal discomfort and injury due to the lack of professional guidance and training in caregiving postures. This study aimed to develop a risk assessment and visualization method by analyzing caregiving postures. Participants with (n = 8) and without (n = 10) caregiving experience were recruited to simulate patient transfer from bed to wheelchair. The Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method lacked sensitivity in distinguishing the experienced and inexperienced groups. We found that the visualization of the center of gravity (COG) trajectory could represent distinct posture differences between the two groups. Based on this finding, we considered a modified REBA method combining the COG trajectory, load-bearing time, and asymmetric load parameters, named the Caregiving-REBA (C-REBA) method. Our results demonstrated that C-REBA could effectively distinguish experienced and inexperienced caregivers, especially in caregiving task Stages 2–4. In conclusion, the present work explored adjusting to the parameters of the REBA method. The proposed C-REBA method could be easily imbedded into the Internet of Things (IoT) device to assess the caregiving posture for providing visual guidance and warning of the risk of discomfort or injury.

Work Posture Analysis with REBA and RULA Method on Production Operators Repair and Maintenance of LPG 3Kg at PT. XYZ

Wrong posture while working has an impact on productivity. One of them is the operator's work position in the production department at PT. XYZ pays little attention to natural work attitudes and there are activities that have a fairly high ergonomic risk. As a result, complaints such as pain in the legs, shoulders, knees, neck and even the arms occur. At worst, it can lead to long-term sprains and fractures. It is necessary to analyze work posture using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) methods to determine the level of musculoskeletal hazards and provide improvements to work methods or rearrangement of the work environment. The final score results in the application of REBA and RULA are on the working posture of the both painting sections with scores of 4 and 9, on screen printing on the bottom of the tube scores of 9 and 10, on ring painting results of scores of 10 and 9, on welding results of scores of 7 and 8, and on the installation of seal tape the results of scores 5 and 6 which need to be repaired immediately. Recommendations are given by changing work postures, adding tables and chairs. The operator's attitude and work position are calculated again using the REBA and RULA checksheets. The result is 3 and 3 both painting, 3 and 3 on tube bottom screen printing, 2 and 3 on ring painting, 2 and 3 on welding, 2 and 2 on seal tape installation, which are (acceptable) or acceptable. Ergonomic Assessment of Cashew nut Kernel Peeling Activity in Women Workers Using REBA

Women are the major work force in cashew nut processing industries in south Maharashtra. Various processes carried out to obtain final edible cashew nut in these industries are, sun drying, roasting, kernel peeling etc. Peeling of outer hard shell called kernel peeling (Shelling) is very time consuming and cumbersome operation and requires labor work force. The women carrying out this activity are at high ergonomic risk which develops musculoskeletal disorders (MSD). This research paper presents an ergonomic assessment of cashew nut kernel peeling activity among 25 women workers using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method. Twenty five women workers were randomly selected for the study from Malvan in District Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. Prolonged and repetitive manual peeling activities can lead to musculoskeletal disorders. The REBA method was applied to evaluate the ergonomic risks associated with cashew nut peeling and to propose potential interventions to improve the working conditions. The study found that the peeling activity poses significant ergonomic challenges and recommends modifications to reduce the risk of work-related injuries among cashew nut peelers. During the survey, it was found that about 85% of the employees were women. Intensity of body pain, postural deviation, joint discomfort and musculoskeletal problems were recorded during survey. Analysis of MSDs reveal that 95% of workers are has low back pain more predominant followed by neck 83% and shoulder pain of about 75%. Further Rapid entire body assessment (REBA) analysis reveals that 25% of the workers are facing sever discomfort in low back pain and 46 % of worker had severed discomfort in neck pain. This study clearly shows that postural behavior in cashew nut processing industries may be the reason for the MSDs in women workers. Thus for human-wellbeing and to sustain human progress, there is urgent need to solve these problems of workers.

ANALISIS PENGUKURAN POSTUR KERJA PADA AKTIVITAS MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING DI PT JMS BATAM

This study aims to analyze the risk level of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in workers who carry out Manual Material Handling (MMH) activities at PT JMS Batam. MMH is a manual transportation and material transfer activity using human labor. This study was conducted because MMH activities carried out repetitively often cause health complaints, especially in the skeletal muscles. The primary data collection method is carried out through observation, direct interviews with employees, documentation using mobile phone cameras, and the distribution of Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaires to identify complaints on workers' body parts. The Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method is used to assess the posture of workers during MMH activities. The results showed that Nordic Body Map analysis showed that all stevedoring workers had the potential to experience musculoskeletal disorder complaints, especially on the left shoulder, right shoulder, back, waist, and buttocks. Workers with scores above 70 are at high risk and need immediate improvement. Workers scoring 55-70 are at moderate risk and require consideration of future improvements. Analysis using the REBA method showed that material transfer has a high risk of trunk and upper arm posture, increasing the risk of injury and health problems.

Ergonomic risk assessment of working postures of nurses working in a medical faculty hospital with REBA and RULA methods.

The aim of the study is to reach objective results about the ergonomic risks of nurses' working postures not only by using questionnaires but also by using Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) methods, which are risk assessment methods used in engineering fields. This study is a cross-sectional study. First of all, 383 nurses were evaluated with a survey. 91.4% of the nurses were women and 6.5% were men. Average age (female: 38.20; male: 31.5), average weight (female: 65.60 kg; male: 81.50 kg), average height (female: 162.7 cm; male: 176.80 cm) and average body mass index (female: 24.80; male: 26) were calculated. In the hospital, which we grouped into in the hospital, which we divided into eight workstations, the REBA and RULA scores of the three nurses working at each workstation were calculated and the average REBA and RULA scores of the workstations were determined. The percentage of those who experienced musculoskeletal pain in the last 1 year at each workstation and the mean REBA-RULA scores were as follows; ward (92%; 6.92-5.69), operating room (98%; 10-7), emergency department (100%; 6.08-5.33), outpatient clinic (75%; 5.5-5.16), intensive care (94%; 6.21-5.57), administrative affairs (94%; 5-5), laboratory (95%; 5.80-5.2) and interventional procedure (92%; 6.4-5.4). In these stations, the highest scores were seen in the operating room. In the questionnaire, 92.46% of the nurses reported having complaints in at least one part of the musculoskeletal system in the last year. The hospital weighted mean score was REBA 6.86 and RULA 5.71. When REBA and RULA measurements were evaluated, it was determined that the risk in the departments where the nurses worked was generally at the medium risk level. REBA and RULA scores indicate that ergonomic changes and adjustments should be made. For this determination, the risks of working postures should be determined with quantitative methods.

Evaluation of the physical condition and the amount of musculoskeletal disorders in Ganjovian using the REBA and ROSA methods Dezful hospital employees

Introduction: The most common occupational diseases are musculoskeletal disorders that happen with improper body posture while performing job duties. The present study aimed to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders and evaluate the physical condition of hospital employees using REBA and ROSA methods.&#x0D; Materials and methods: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 125 employees of Dezful teaching hospital, selected by stratified random sampling method. Musculoskeletal disorders were assessed using the Nordic questionnaire, and Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA)، and Rapid Office Strain Assessment (ROSA) methods were used to assess physical condition. The normality of the data was checked using Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Statistical analysis was done with SPSS version 23 software.&#x0D; Results: The average age and work experience were 36.49±8.26 and 7.33±11.8 years, respectively. The highest prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders was related to the neck (47.7%) and wrist (40.4%), and the lowest was the elbow (7.8%). According to the REBA score, 18.3% of posture workers needed immediate corrections, and 37.8% needed corrections as soon as possible. According to the ROSA score, in 75.8% of the tasks, the work environment should be re-evaluated. There was a significant relationship (P-value&lt;0.05) between wrist, shoulder, and neck disorders with gender, height, age, work history, and posture.&#x0D; Conclusion: Considering the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders and the high level of risk among employees, it is recommended to modify the workstation and train employees.

Penilaian Postur Kerja Operator Stasiun Sampling Point Dengan Metode Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) dI PT. X

This study aims to design a workplace improvement plan for Sampling Point operators at a CPO Processing Factory (PT.X) located in West Sumatra Province. This research started from the first stage by identifying all Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSDs) complaints in operators using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) method, then the second stage was carried out by assessing work posture using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method. This research found a condition that has the potential for musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Interviews were conducted with several operators, it can be concluded that almost every time they finish their work, they experience symptoms of muscle disorders. This is of course suspected because the operator's work attitude is contrary to ergonomic principles. The final results of the assessment using the REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) method conclude the following: Operators work in an attitude with a high level of risk category 3 which demands immediate corrective action and has an impact on musculoskeletal disorders. Then from the aspect of assessing the current work posture it is clear that the risk of musculoskeletal disorders is very high and requires immediate changes 

Improvement of working posture in the metal casting industry to prevent musculoskeletal disorders

Less ergonomic work postures such as bending and squatting have the potential to pose work risks. When muscles receive static loads repeatedly and for a long time, it causes complaints of damage to joints, ligaments, and tendons commonly referred to as musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) or injuries to the musculoskeletal system. This study aimed to determine the level of risk of work postures performed by workers in each work activity using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and Ovako Working Posture Analysis System (OWAS) methods and provide suggestions for improving work postures to minimise the occurrence of work risks. The research was conducted at the foundry of metal in the Casting section. Initial data in the form of Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire data used to determine complaints in the musculoskeletal system and data in the form of image documentation on each work activity used as material for analysing the assessment of the REBA and OWAS methods. Proposals for improving the working posture were given in the form of adding foundations for moulding and pattern-making activities, the design of tools for metal liquid pouring activities, and furnace designs for metal smelting. Proposed Design of Assistant Tools to Reduce the Risk of Disorders (MSDS) Operator of Weaving Work Station CV XYZ

The weaving operator of CV XYZ has an unergonomic work posture with a bent back and unbalanced legs at work. This non-ergonomic condition was identified by using the Nordic Body Map questionnaire to find out complaints on 28 body parts of three operators. From the identification of weaving operators using a nordic body map, it is known that there are complaints on the back, waist, and hips of the body. Identification using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment method shows that the final result of the assessment is 11, which means that there is a need for improvement now on the operator's work posture. The results of the QEC method show an exposure score of 97.12% for operator 3 and the action that must be taken is research and changes now. To reduce the risk of high work posture, a proposal for improving the working posture of the weaving machine set up operator was formulated by designing a manual scissor lift tool. In the process of designing tools, Indonesian anthropometric data is needed. The stages of designing tools are identifying operator needs, conceptualizing tools using a need metric matrix, selecting tools concepts with combination tables and scoring concepts and describing the design of tools using AutoCAD and CATIA software. From the results of the selection of several alternative concepts, a tool in the form of a manual scissor lift was chosen which has a combination of elements, namely a square working platform design, using 2 hydraulics and raw materials made of steel. Meanwhile, the manual scissor lift specification has a maximum height of 85 cm, a footing length of 70 cm and a footing width of 46 cm. It is known that before the proposed improvement, the final result of the REBA score was 11 and after the improvement the final result of the REBA score was 4 which indicates that the operator's work posture has improved after using the assistive device, especially in the arms, legs and back of the operator

Computer-Assisted Ergonomic Analysis of Working Postures Causing Strain

The present study aimed to analyze the postures of workers in a workshop type small-scale furniture manufacturing factory considering seven workstations including edge banding station, horizontal circular saw cutting station, circular saw cutting station, borehole station, planning station, thickness adjustment (planning station, and band saw station. It was also intended to determine the points they have difficulty and what extent they have difficulty (i.e. the level of risk), and to bring the workplace conditions in compliance with the workers’ necessities through improvement arrangements about how they can avoid the ergonomic risks and dangers they face. Video recordings and photographs of each process were taken from different angles with cameras. Posture analysis was performed by selecting the movement that is most repetitive, longest, improper and forceful posture. Contrary to the previous studies incorporating estimation-based risk analyses, the present study employs uMED Ergonomics software, which allows analysis by collecting data (i.e. distance and angle) with measurement tools on the image, in analyzing the angles of body parts and clearly revealing the workers’ postures. Ergonomic risk analysis was performed using the REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) method, as it numerically quantifies the degree of risk which is one of the effective risk assessment methods. It was determined that the posture modifications and some ergonomic improvements significantly reduced the risk level. Accordingly, once the risk levels were determined (high for Station 1, medium for other stations), the risks were reduced to very low for Stations 4 and 7, and low for other stations.

The Effectiveness of a New Climbing Device on Working Postures, Musculoskeletal Symptoms, and Fatigue in Date Palm Farmers

ABSTRACT Background Musculoskeletal disorders are one of the main health problems found in date palm farmers. This study aimed to assess a new climbing device on working postures, musculoskeletal symptoms, and fatigue in date palm farmers. Methods Data were collected using questionnaires (Standardised Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire, Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory, and System Usability Scale) and direct observations of the postures (using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment method [REBA]) from 70 date palm farmers during operating the traditional and new climbing devices. Results The new climbing device showed significant improvement in working postures (in the knee, legs/ankles, and shoulders). In all tasks, the REBA grand score significantly decreased after using the new climbing device (P ≤ 0.05). Significant differences were found in the severity of complaints ratings, particularly in the knee, legs/ankles, and low back areas, during performance tasks using the traditional and new climbing devices. Also, significant differences were found between the scores of physical and mental fatigue during use of the traditional and new climbing devices(P ≤ 0.05). Conclusion The findings indicate the effectiveness of the new climbing device as a low-cost, simple, and easy-to-use device that improves working postures and reduces musculoskeletal discomfort in date palm farmers.

SEE: A proactive strategy-centric and deep learning-based ergonomic risk assessment system for risky posture recognition

Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) are serious workplace injuries that put workers' safety at risk. However, traditional WMSD assessments are based on the human-evaluation strategy (HES), requiring human intervention. Proactive strategy (PAS)-oriented WMSDs assessments collect data using posture data tags and special semi-human–machine equipment to improve efficiency and reduce human efforts to capture specific postures in a real-world setting. Meanwhile, more research on applying artificial intelligence-based pose machines for musculoskeletal risk assessment in various workplaces is needed. Hence, this study proposed a holistic posture acquisition and ergonomic risk analysis model with the PAS-oriented philosophy for developing a smartphone-based and workplace-based risk assessment system for WMSDs. The Convolutional Pose Machines (CPM) method was combined with a rapid entire body assessment method for the system's design. Finally, the smart ergonomic explorer (SEE) system includes three subsystems: an automotive scene capturer, an ergonomic risk level calculator, and a risk assessment reporter. A musculoskeletal risk assessment experiment with 13 poses was also carried out to validate the SEE system and compare its accuracy with manual evaluation. The result shows good agreement with the REBA score, with an average proportion agreement index (P0) of 0.962 and kappa of 0.82. It indicates that the proposed system can not only accurately analyze the working posture, but also accurately evaluate the total REBA scores. This study is hoped to provide practical advice and implications for achieving a more effective empirical response for WMSD assessment.

Design of Work Facilities to Reduce Complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDS) with an Ergonomic Approach to Coffee Farmers

Complaints on the musculoskeletal system are complaints that are felt by a person in the muscles and skeleton with different levels of complaints, complaints to this damage are usually referred to as musculoskeletal disorders. The purpose of this study was to improve work facilities in the process of picking coffee cherries in Arul Item Village, Central Aceh. This measurement was carried out using the REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) method and using the NBM (Nordic Body Map) questionnaire as the research instrument. The study was conducted using an analytical survey method which aims to see the relationship between work attitudes and musculoskeletal complaints with an ergonomic approach. From the results of the NBM questionnaire on 56 workers, it shows that the musculoskeletal complaints experienced by coffee berry pickers are in the category of pain, most of which are in the upper neck and left wrist as many as 39 (70%). In the very category of pain, the most pain was in the left shoulder 50 (89%) and the right wrist as much as 33 (59). Based on measurements using the REBA method, it is stated that there is an actual REBA score of 4-7 where the risk is at moderate risk for musculoskeletal disorders and on the proposed REBA score there is a score of 2 where the score is in a low risk area, so as to improve work attitudes and work posture which resulted in the emergence of musculoskeletal complaints, a modified work tool design, namely a bag, was proposed to reduce the high number of musculoskeletal complaints in coffee fruit pickers
